|
Provides a relative indication of how expensive it is to live in an area
based on total annual retail and non-retail average household expenditures. The
values have been normalized such that 100 equals the national average. A value of
50 indicates that the area is half as expensive as the national cost of living,
while a value of 200 indicates that the area is twice as expensive.

The average yearly utilities expenditure including gas, heating fuel,
electricity, water, trash removal, etc.

|
The average total sales tax for the area.

Avg. Household Total Consumer Expenditures

|

|
Ranges from 1 to 5, representing potential health concerns with the
area's air quality. Problems, such as breathing difficulties, may be more likely
to occur due to significant concentrations of one or more of the following air
pollutants carbon monoxide, ozone, nitrogen dioxide, lead, and particulate matter.
Urban locations generally score worse than average (4 or 5), while rural areas
tend to score better than average (1 or 2). The national average is 3.45. Scoring
above or below average risk does not necessarily indicate that the air is dirty
or clean, or that an individual will or will not have breathing difficulties.
The scores only provide a relative measure of air cleanliness when compared to
other locations.

including larceny, burglary, and motor vehicle theft. The national average is

reporting jurisdictions.
