WATCHUNG Nestled between two ridges of the rocky Watchung Mountains, the Borough of Watchung is bordered by both Morris and Union Counties. The name Watchung is derived from an Indian word meaning "on the hill" or "high place", and is believed to have been given to the area by the Lenni-Lenape Indians.
